Monkey See, Monkey Do

This last week, we discovered that Izzie has begun to imitate us more than ever before. Two of the things we like to do with her is roll our tongues over our gums and clap our hands. The clapping was completely out of the blue; one day, we were clapping in front of her, and she just started doing it too! We were very excited to see this, since it was the strongest evidence to date that Izzie could recognize what we were doing and follow along herself. Moments like that really reminded us how quickly Izzie is growing up and how development is happening every day, even if we don't notice it. It's a really weird feeling: we're proud of her ever-changing self, but at the same time nostalgic of the times when she was a true newborn.
